Florence Lions White Cane Drive

Please click the gofundme logo above

to make a White Cane donation to the Florence Lions. Any amount is, as always, appreciated!

The Florence Lions annual White Cane Drive is the club's primary fundraising event and the main source of our charitable funding each year. For many years the event involved collections received at the doorways of several local retailers but policy changes at various stores have forced the club to reduce this practice.

Please help your Lions Club in its role of providing eyesight assistance to those in need within our community by making a donation through gofundme.

Florence & Erlanger Lions Send in 6,200 Pairs of Donated Glasses

On September 21st, Florence Lion Ed Walter drove nearly three hours to the International Eyeglass Recycling Center in Upland, Indiana to deliver 6,200 pairs of donated glasses collected by the Florence and Erlanger Lions Clubs. The delivery also contained 300 pairs of sunglasses and seven boxes of hinged eyeglass cases. This was all made possible by the caring donations of used eyewear by Northern Kentucky community members.
The photo shows John Chester, of the Upland, Indiana Lions (left) and two other Upland Lions who received the delivery for future routing to specific areas of need where they will be freely provided to adults and children by Lions International.

The Florence Lions wish to thank co-chairpersons Lions Craig Wintermann, Pete Toerner and Tony Colley for their hard work in organizing the event and to the golfers who participated as well as the wonderful sponsors who, once again, made this successful event a reality.

Welcome to the Florence Lions Club

clubhouseThe Florence Lions Club is dedicated to service and helping those less fortunate in our community. Every year, all year long the Florence Lions Club provides for local eyesight care. This effort involves eye screening at Boone County schools, follow up requests for eye exams and treatment as well as purchasing special equipment to help the visually impaired that have no means for assistance. Every dollar that is donated by individuals and companies in the community are returned to the community through these efforts.
